JOBZ Highway Signs
Signage has been one of the key ways to show where JOBZ is located in Minnesota communities and to build awareness of the JOBZ initiative.
As part of efforts to support local JOBZ marketing, a JOBZ population sign process has been established between the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) and Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). The population signage process is a key opportunity to tie a very visible statewide JOBZ marketing process with your own regional and sub-zone JOBZ marketing efforts -- in a cost effective manner.
The sign design supports the statewide branding of JOBZ, is bold and straightforward. At 35-55 mph there isn’t a lot of room for nuance. It is designed to deliver the simple message quickly that this community provides for, and is supported by the State of Minnesota’s marquee economic development initiative, JOBZ.
A population sign is a premium space for sending a message to those passing through a community, and JOBZ is the premium initiative for attracting businesses to a community.
A number of communities have already developed JOBZ signage off the right-of-way and in billboards along highways. The JOBZ population sign marketing effort takes these efforts another step forward by tying together the JOBZ brand statewide and clearly showing where the benefits of JOBZ are located.
