Minnesota Manufacturer's Week
October 20 - October 24, 2008
Manufacturer’s Week is designed to showcase Minnesota’s diverse manufacturing industry and to increase legislative and public awareness of the importance in providing high-wage, high-skill jobs for our communities.
Did you know that almost one out of every seven jobs in the state is in the manufacturing industry and that this industry accounts for 17.3 percent of Minnesota’s total wages? And in 2007, manufacturing produced $33.9 billion for the state economy and is the largest share--13.3 percent--of our gross domestic product.
To recognize and promote the importance of manufacturing to the state’s economy, the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, and the Minnesota Manufacturing Coalition are facilitating Minnesota Manufacturer’s Week.
The success of Manufacturer’s Week depends on you. To enhance the success of Manufacturer’s Week, we invite the participation of companies, Chambers of commerce and Statewide trade associations with any other interested groups and organizations.
The following information will assist you in planning to highlight manufacturing in your area.
