Bioscience Business Development Public Infrastructure Grant Program - Annual Program Summary

Purpose
This program provides grants to keep or enhance jobs in the area, increase the tax base, or expand or create new economic development through the growth of new bioscience businesses and organizations.

Customers and Services
Program customers are cities. Eligible projects are publicly owned infrastructure that may include wastewater collection and treatment, drinking water, storm sewers, utility extensions, telecommunications, parking ramps, streets and facilities that support basic science and clinical research, and research that supports an eligible project. Projects include manufacturing, technology, bioscience business incubator, warehousing and distribution, research and development, and agricultural bioprocessing; or industrial, office, or research park development that would be used by a bioscience-based business.

Measures - Reporting period is state fiscal year (SFY), July 1 - June 30 (program was created in 2006)

Funding Source and Allocation
Funding for the program is from general obligation bond funds and the amount available varies each bonding year.
