Coordinated Employability Projects

EE-SMI Program provides supported employment services to persons with serious and persistent mental illness (SMI) who secure employment through 22 Coordinated Employability Projects.

Outcomes

These projects are a collaborative effort with the Mental Health Division of the Department of Human Services.In State Fiscal Year 2006, over 569 persons with mental illness were working in supported employment through the these projects earning an average of $8.22 per hour.

Reports

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Human Services, produced and published the report called Status and Evaluation: Employment and Support Services for Persons with Mental Illness in 2008. The 2000 through 2006 reports and updates are also available.

Note: Although 22 projects provide services in 62 counties, there are twenty-five (25) counties that do not have SMI projects.
